SHERWIN-WILLIAMS® AUTOMOTIVE FINISHES AND LARSEN MOTORSPORTS (LMS) TO ADDRESS TALENT SHORTAGE IN COLLISION REPAIR WITH SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Blazing Trails Scholarship Fund will support students enrolling in automotive-related fields at participating trade schools and community/technical colleges

The Blazing Trails Scholarship Fund recognizes excellent and deserving students seeking vocational and/or technical training in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) related fields.

 

Annually, the Blazing Trails Scholarship Fund will select a set number of qualified students to receive funding, to the below participating vocational school and/or technical/community colleges.

 

Established and managed by Larsen Motorsports,  Blazing Trails 501(c) 3, and in partnership with Sherwin-Williams® Automotive Finishes, the Blazing Trails Scholarship Fund is designed a drive enrollment at the post secondary level, and specifically in automotive service and collision repair related programs. It is the hope of both organizations that the Blazing Trails Scholarship Fund gives career-mined students the resources and necessary funding needed to achieve his/her personal career goals and sustain an industry with skilled professionals with the technical background needed to make an impact.

 

Larsen Motorsports and Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes will select and award a set number of students each year that are enrolling in vocational school and/or a technical/community college with scholarships.    

Eligibility Requirements

The Blazing Trails Scholarship Fund is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States who are 18 years of age or older at the time of enrollment.

Must be enrolling as a freshman in the participating institutions; the scholarship is non-renewable.

Applicants must be admitted and enrolled in a post secondary STEM and/or automotive related program at one of the participating vocational schools and/or technical/community colleges.

Scholarship funds will not be awarded to students who are already enrolled at any of the participating institutions.

Applicants must have maintained an overall minimum GPA of 3.0 throughout their high school education.  
Applicant must complete the application for the Blazing Trails Scholarship Fund; the application once submitted cannot be resubmitted and/or modified.

Scholarship funds are awarded at the time of admission

Application Requirements

Complete all required fields and submit the application form with all required attachments (see below list).

·         High school transcript

·         Three (3) recommendations from either educators and/or employers

·         Relevant high school vocational and/or technical/community college courses

·         High school extracurricular activities

·         High school honors

·         Experience, paid or volunteer, in the trades specific to post secondary education

·         Letter highlighting career goals and why you’re choosing the desired field of training
